GUEST: Yeah, so my grandfather, uh, was an attorney for many years in Manhattan, and he was a jazz musician before that.
So he was friends with a lot of musicians, and painters, and artists.
When he started doing law, he started representing his friends, people that he played music with and artists that he knew.
This must have been... APPRAISER: Oh, it's signed and dated.
Yeah, '74.
GUEST: Yeah, '74.
GUEST: So that must have been something he was given as payment for work, because I know a lot of the Cubans that came over were needing help.
APPRAISER: Bermúdez is one of my favorite artists.
It's a very wonderful image.
It's on paper.
Watercolor on paper.
I'm going to say, with the little research that I'm able to do right now, probably between $4,000 and $6,000.
